The association has now mapped 100% of England and Wales in the search for lost paths. Once you join you can use the Ramblers app which gives you access to all the maps and advice.  You can either explore on your own or join guided walks. Visit the website to find a group near you.

Group walks

Whether you are walking to improve your health or simply for the pleasure of exploring your local area on foot, their walks make enjoying the great outdoors easy.

Since April 2019 Ramblers Walking for Health has been run with support from Sport England.

Walking for Health walks are developed to be accessible to people who have done little or no exercise before, or who need more support to stay active than they have in the past. They’ve already benefited a huge range of people across England, and they hope to extend their reach further, ensuring that they are helping the people who need the most support to get and stay active.

The Ramblers Walking for Health team delivers strategic guidance for the overall programme and provides schemes with support and free resources such as training, insurance, and national promotion. The local schemes are run by a variety of organisations including councils, the NHS, charities and voluntary groups.

They aim to ensure that everyone will have access to a short, free and friendly health walk within easy reach of where they live, to help them to become and stay more active.

Volunteering

Without the 25,000 volunteers who give their time to the Ramblers they would not exist. Visit the website to find out how you can get involved as a volunteer.
