Neurology Rehab- Hobbs

In 2005, neuro physiotherapists Helen Hobbs and Nicky Ellis set up Hobbs Rehabilitation and since then it has expanded rapidly offering an exceptional level of personalised skill and expertise. Now operating from 10 locations, Hobbs Rehabilitation provides a full range of rehabilitation services for neurological conditions, including Stroke, where the individual is placed at the centre of care.

Based in the south of England, Hobbs provides residential inpatient rehabilitation as well as outpatient community services.
Intensive residential inpatient services are available at Liphook, Hobbs South West (Somerset) and Berkshire
Specialist Upper Limb services are available at the Bristol Clinic
Outpatient community services are at WinchesterHobbs South East (Nr Petersfield), Salisbury, Lymington and Dorset.

Dormy Care and Hobbs Rehabilitation offer an interdisciplinary service provided by experienced specialists in neurological and intensive rehabilitation. These include experts in the field of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, rehabilitation medicine, neuropsychology, CBT and orthotics to help ensure that every individual can reach their full potential.

Bespoke programmes are designed for each individual with up to four hours of therapy a day as well as an in-house activities programme and including a weekend service. Professionals from across the whole team will assess, identify and tailor a course of treatment which is provided in a luxurious home from home setting. Realistic expectations are clearly defined and agreed with the individual, their family and their carers.

oaksey house

Oaksey House,Newbury

Hobbs provide a specialist inpatient and outpatient neurological rehabilitation at Oaksey House near Newbury, the flagship rehabilitation centre of the Injured Jockeys Fund. 

Within the Injured Jockey Funded facility, Hobbs offer rehabilitation to all neurological patients, specialising in Spinal Cord and Head injuries. A large number of those treated here are young with a spinal cord injury and include sports men and women from the equestrian and RFU (rugby)
world, although Oaksey House is not exclusively for young sports people.

The state of the art building with its many eco friendly features has a purpose built gym, a
hydrotherapy pool, an Alter-G machine and FES bike alongside other specialist equipment.
The facility also has light, airy communal areas which makes this an ideal environment in
which to rehabilitate.

 

In the garden there are independent living flats, some suitable for higher
dependency clients and their carers, which are available for those requiring intensive rehabilitation
who want to stay at Oaksey House and gain maximum benefit from the facilities it offers.  If
you have an established care team you are welcome to bring them.  If not, care can be
sourced locally.
